Who should be involved in the accreditation process?
It is strongly recommended that the service leads (clinical and non clinical) work together with key representatives of the service to complete the self-assessment. It may also be appropriate to include a patient group representative. It is important to have a cross-section of individuals involved to achieve an accurate assessment of the service and the challenges faced, and to help support ongoing action plans to improve the service. -
How much does a level 2 assessment cost?
The cost of an assessment is covered in the annual subscription (link to subscription information). The only cost for the service on the site assessment day, is tea/ coffee refreshment and lunch for the assessment team. A further subscription may be payable if a service requires a bespoke assessment, or if a service cancels an assessment within 4 weeks of the agreed date. -
What is a request for further information?
Once a lead assessor has completed their review of a services level 1 submission, further information may be requested from the service peior ro being level 1 signed off. If this happens, the services services self-assessment will reopen to provide further evidence and commentary. The IQILS operational team will be avaliable to support during this process. -
How long does a level 1 review take?
Once a lead assessor has been assigned to a level 1 submission, it usually takes 4 weeks for the assessor to complete their review. The office team will keep the service updated on the progress on the review. -
Who will review a level 1 submission?
A services level 1 submission is reviewed by a lead assessor from the IQILS assessor pool. The assessor will review the submission and provide feedback to support the service to work towards achieving accreditation.
