  • Will an assessor need to visit our service for a level 1 assessment?

    No, level 1 assessments are conducted remotely, a visit to your service is only required once your service submits for a level 2 assessment.
  • Who are the IQILS accreditation assessors?

    Assessors are either doctors or nurses working in an liver service. All assessors undergo training and development by our experienced team who are part of the Royal College of Physicians’ Accreditation Unit. Lay assessors (individuals who represent the patient voice and do not work in healthcare) also form a part of the assessment team. Lay assessors are part of the Royal College of Physicians’ Accreditation Unit. Please email accreditation@rcp.ac.uk to find out when more opportunities will be available.
  • What is the lead assessor call and who needs to attend?

    This is a Microsoft Teams call between the lead assessor and the key service contacts regarding the assessment.
  • What will a site assessment day look like?

    The site assessment day is a full day activity that involves service presentation, site tour and interview with service staff. Here is an example agenda of an assessment day. This agenda is flexible and slots can be moved around to accommodate your service. The administrator/point of contact for your assessment will assist with scheduling the assessment day once your assessment date has been confirmed.
  • What are the potential outcomes that a service may receive after being assessed?

    You will receive a provisional outcome in your feedback meeting on your site assessment day, this will be subject to quality assurance.
