IQILS at BASL 2026

The IQILS team was delighted to attend the BASL Annual Meeting 2026, held at ICC Wales from 7- 9 October.

The conference was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from across liver services, catch up with familiar faces and have valuable conversations about the role of IQILS in supporting quality improvement.

Throughout the event, the team welcomed visitors to stand 5, where we enjoyed hearing from services at different stages of their IQILS journey, as well as meeting colleagues interested in finding out more about the programme. It was also lovely to be in Newport, on the home turf of our Clinical Lead, Dr Andy Yeoman!

For our programme coordinator, Alice, it was her first time attending BASL:

"This was my first conference with the IQILS team, and what a great start it was! I really enjoyed finally putting faces to so many names I've been emailing over the past few months.

It was also lovely to meet colleagues from PSC Support, the PBC Foundation and Liver UK. I feel very lucky to be part of such a close-knit and welcoming hepatology community - I even bumped into some familiar faces from my time working in Manchester!

One of my favourite things about the conference was getting to hear more about the work going on across different liver services. It's easy to spend a lot of time behind a screen, so it was really nice to meet the people we're working with and hear about their experiences.

I came away feeling even more excited to be working in hepatology and supporting liver services through IQILS."

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by stand 5, whether it was to ask a question, share your experience of IQILS or simply say hello. For anyone who didn't get the chance to speak with us at BASL, please do get in touch. We're always happy to hear from services interested in finding out more about IQILS.

See you next year!
