Light up for Liver: Liver Cancer Awareness Month
18 November 2024

Initiative of Liver Cancer UK, Part of the British Liver Trust

Throughout October, an array of iconic UK landmarks were lit up in green to mark Liver Cancer Awareness Month.

As part of Liver Cancer UK’s ‘Light Up For Liver’ campaign, over 30 landmarks across 21 locations in the UK were illuminated to show solidarity with everyone affected by liver cancer, and to raise awareness on the fastest rising cause of cancer death in the UK.

Liver cancer sees an estimated 6000 new cases every year in the UK and is so often fatal, “but with earlier diagnosis many of these deaths can be prevented.” - Pamela Healy, Chief Executive of the British Liver Trust

IQILS is committed to the improvement of liver services and this fantastic initiative highlights how important it is to have dedicated, high-quality services available.

The British Liver Trust welcome participation from any landmark, big or small, local or national. Landmarks can illuminate at any point in October, and hospitals and liver units are encouraged in particular to illuminate where possible.

Help the British Liver Trust continue to shine a light on liver cancer by taking part in next year’s campaign:
