Dr Andrew Yeoman 
IQILS Clinical Lead

Andrew is a consultant hepatologist at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and brings a wealth of of experience to the role of Clinical Lead for IQILS, having previously been appointed as clinical lead for the Wales Liver Plan that was launched in 2015. Andrew took part in the Lancet Commission into Liver Disease and is currently a steering group member of its successor, the UK Liver Alliance.

Andrew is a strong believer in the importance of patient centred care and provides support to a number of patient organisations, namely the British Liver Trust, PBC Foundation, PSC Support and AIH Support. 

Katy Thistlethwaite
IQILS Project Manager

Katy is the Project Manager for IQILS and oversees the delivery of the programme. Katy works with commissioners, national stakeholders and the liver community to develop and grow the programme and has a passion for QI and how this can support service development.

After joining the Royal College of Physicians in 2019, Katy previously supported the delivery of the Improving Quality in Allergy Services (IQAS) and Quality in Primary Immunodeficiency (QPIDS) programmes. Prior to joining the RCP Katy worked at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and has experience in a number of specialities, including radiology, offender healthcare and cardiac diagnostics. 

 

Alice O'Brien
IQILS Programme Coordinator

Alice joined the IQILS team from the NHS, with an interest in community care shaped by her early work in domiciliary care. She completed an NHS management graduate scheme in Manchester, where she helped project manage their IQILS accreditation. This has given her experience of the accreditation process from a service perspective.

Alice graduated from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Medical Sociology. Her subsequent master’s research focused on improving communication between clinical and managerial teams in the NHS, an area she remains passionate about.
