We are pleased to announce that Dr Andrew Yeoman has been appointed as Clinical Lead for IQILS.
Andrew will be taking up the post from 1 April 2026, having served as Quality Lead since 2021. As Clinical Lead Andrew will provide leadership and support services with accreditation along with the development of IQILS.
'I'm delighted to have been appointed into the IQILS Clinical Lead role and relish the opportunity to progress this vital programme alongside the outstanding staff within the Accreditation Unit at the RCP. I'd also like to pay tribute to the outgoing lead, Professor James Ferguson, who has laid the foundations and delivered a successful scheme. There remain many challenges ahead but I am confident that the collaborative nature of everyone involved with IQILS will allow us to grow our reach and influence'.
Andrew is a consultant hepatologist at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been appointed as clinical lead for the Wales Liver Plan that was launched in 2015. Andrew took part in the Lancet Commission into Liver Disease and is currently a steering group member of its successor, the UK Liver Alliance. Andrew is a strong believer on the importance of patient centred care and provides support to a number of patient organisations, namely the British Liver Trust, PBC Foundation, PSC Support and AIH Support.
